Bake Off: Are you more GBBO or TGIF?
Posted: 22nd August 2018
Ah, it’s that time again! Great British Bake Off is back next week, easing us into those cooler autumn evenings with talk of proving, the gingham altar and, of course, soggy bottoms.
This time we can relax – following last year’s controversial move to Channel 4 from the BBC, our worst fears weren’t realised. Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding had more chemistry than Heston Blumenthal’s egg and bacon ice cream and Prue proved a fine replacement for her baking pal Mary Berry. And ol’ blue eyes, aka Paul Hollywood, was there to steady the ship.
Here at Mploy, we imagined what a normal working week would look like ‘bake-off style’…
When you’re feeling frustrated but can’t yell at your boss (obvs!)
When you are really excited to show your presentation but it isn’t well received…
When you nail that group project!
When you’ve worked a 14 hour day
When you get out of your performance review unscathed…
Or on the other hand…maybe you didn’t
When you commit to a deadline that was yesterday
…and then you meet that deadline!
When you’re in a meeting and someone asks ANOTHER question, delaying lunch
When you royally screwed up the figures
The level of enthusiasm you have when you get into work on a Friday morning
and after all that, you made it through to the weekend!
If you’re a keen baker, a determined line cook or an expert pastry chef and are looking for a new role; we have plenty of jobs available with our Hospitality & Catering division!
