Early Shift – Monday to Thursday – 5:45am to 1:45pm, Friday – 5:45am to 12:55pm
Late Shift – Monday to Thursday – 2pm to 10pm, Friday – 1:10pm to 8:20pm
MPLOY are seeking reliable and detail-orientated candidates for a temporary to permanent Materials Handler position based in Chard. This position is based on a rotating shift (one week, you will be working on the early shift and the next week you will be working on the late shift). The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products within a warehouse or production environment. The Materials Handler plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain by maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring proper storage conditions, and preparing materials for production. This role will require you to be comfortable in a fast-paced working environment.
Key Skills required:
Inventory Management: Maintain and organise inventory, ensuring that all materials are stored in an orderly and easily accessible manner. Regularly conduct stock counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
Storage and Distribution: Properly store materials according to safety and quality standards and ensure they are easily retrievable when needed. Move materials to various areas of the facility as required.
Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. Ensure materials are handled in accordance with company safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Equipment Operation: Pallet truck usage, or other material handling equipment (following training) to move heavy or bulky items safely.
Documentation: Maintain records of material movements and inventory levels. Assist with preparing reports as needed for inventory audits or other related activities. This will be using a scanner and the SAP system.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (such as production) to ensure timely delivery and use of materials.
Physical Ability: Have the ability to walk throughout the day as the role requires collecting finished products and delivering raw materials. However, the role does not include heavy lifting, with loads of a maximum of 12KG.
To be successful in this position, previous warehouse experience is required. A Forklift Truck license is preferable but not essential.
